The Piazzetta Ljubljana was organized by the media and performance artist Marko Košnik, in cooperation with the student radio station Radio Študent (RŠ).

At that time, the warfare between the former states of Yugoslavia was at its peak. In the first broadcast on September 16, intellectuals and artists from Slovenia made brief statements about the ongoing war.

In the second broadcast on September 20, the journalist Petar Luković called from Belgrade and discussed the situation with a critical eye on the government. Since no regular telephone connections between Ljubljana and Belgrade were possible at that time due to the state of war, the telephone signals of both cities were connected to each other at the studio in Kassel.
