Sarah und Daniel (Sarah and Daniel )
In “Sarah and Daniel”, two callers were able to control a pair of lovers during a dialogue by triggering short video clips with the telephone keypad. The two characters were played by two Van Gogh TV employees: Sarah Khan and Daniel Haude.
Two other callers could comment on the statements and were also encouraged in the opening credits to give “relationship advice”. The audience made little use of this option, instead mainly taking the opportunity for conversations between two callers, which often had a more personal character than the conversations between four participants that were the norm on “Coffeehouse.” The format started in early July 1992 and was shown a total of more than forty times.
