Salvatore Vanasco

Salvatore Vanasco has been at the forefront of computer and software innovation since the early 1980s. After studying literature at “La Sapienza” in Rome, he studied visual communication at the Hochschule für bildende Kunst in Hamburg and graduated with a diploma. He co-founded the Ponton European Media Art Lab in 1989, and continued to work there until 1998. During this time he was concerned with the contextualisation of communication and interaction in the digital. He realised several artistic works with Van Gogh TV, which were presented and/or performed, for example, at documenta 9 and several times at Ars Electronica in Linz. From 2000-2005, Salvatore Vanasco worked as an appointed professor for interactive media, at the Merzakademie Stuttgart. Based in Berlin since 2006, his company xailabs GmbH develops applications in media technonology, AI and Extrended Realities on his own behalf and on behalf of clients.
