The preparation of the programming, technology and organisation of “Piazza virtuale” was accompanied by intensive press work. Two press associates contacted TV programme magazines as well as technical magazines, the local press in Kassel as well as national newspapers, television stations and magazines. A first press conference took place in Hamburg on 6 March 1992, and shortly before the opening there was another press conference in Kassel. The intensive press work achieved significant successes, for example “Der Spiegel”, “Wiener” and the city magazine “Prinz” reported extensively on “Piazza virtuale” in advance, and the computer magazines MacUp and Page published a joint special edition.
